Salt Lake City
We soften and filter the water where it comes into the house, and put a reverse osmosis tap by the kitchen sink. The system is sized to your house, and you see one price before anything is ordered.
In Salt Lake City, it usually starts with one of these three. Each calls for a different fix, so we look at your water before we suggest anything.
Water delivered by Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District, which supplies much of the south and west valley, averaged 182 mg/L of hardness in 2025, about 10.7 grains per gallon. That is the white crust on faucets, the spots on glasses and the film on the shower door.
Even treated mountain water carries minerals here. Water leaving Salt Lake City's three canyon treatment plants measured between 8 and 12.4 grains per gallon of hardness in 2025.
Salt Lake City says more than 60 percent of its water starts in nearby mountain streams, and in summer it adds water from deep valley wells, which it describes as harder with more minerals. Several cities nearby shift their own mix of wells and purchased water through the year too.
About Salt Lake Water Solutions • Close to home
Salt Lake Water Solutions works with households across Salt Lake City on the water that comes out of their taps. Some want the scale gone from the shower glass, some want a better glass of water from the kitchen, and some are on a well and want to know where to begin. We look at where your water comes from and what you are noticing, then suggest softening, carbon filtration, reverse osmosis, well treatment or a mix of them. You get a plain answer and a system sized to your house.

First we talk through what you are seeing at the taps. Then we tell you which system fits and what it costs. If you say yes, we put it in and show you how it works.
Tell us whether you are on city water or a well, and what bothers you about it, from the kettle to the laundry. That tells us where to start.
We lay out which system suits your house and your budget, and why. Ask as many questions as you like.
Once you pick a system, we install it, check that it runs properly, and walk you through the few things it needs from you.

Whole house system and RO on city water
$2,999
installed
The whole house system on its own is $2,699. The dual tank system is $3,299 on its own, or $3,599 with RO. The RO system on its own is $799. Homes on a well get their own sizing and their own price.

This is one example setup. Yours gets sized once the assessment is done.
Don't see yours? Add it to your assessment request and we will answer it on the call.
We give you a call and talk through your water together. By the end you know which system we would fit and what it costs. The assessment itself is free.
The written price is the one you pay. If something about your house would change it, we tell you before any work begins.
At the spot where your water line comes in. That is often the basement, a utility room or the garage.
Floor space for the tanks, and enough room above to lift the cabinet lid and reach the bypass.
Keep the cabinet topped up. The setup notes explain it, and that is really all there is.
It does, sized another way. A private well shifts over the year, so it is set up differently from city water. We do both.
The quieter part of the list
Often noticeable in a glass.
Harder to pick out.
No taste to go on.
So the assessment begins with the report your utility puts out on Salt Lake City water, rather than a hunch.
We ask for your name, phone and email. We cover the rest on a short call.
